2024 MLB Consensus Mock Draft: February 2024 Update

With college and high school baseball about to start, it’s time to refresh the 2024 MLB Consensus Mock Draft list. We added the Bleacher Report as a new source, which brings the total number of organizations forecasting players to seven. Since the last mock list in December, Baseball America, Perfect Game and PBR updated their forecasts, so the top fifteen have shifted around a little. As a result, we have a new consensus #1 – Nick Kurtz. This isn’t much of a surprise since he was #2 previously and holds the top position on three of the seven charts.

Beyond that swap at the top, the #3 and #4 positions didn’t change. Charlie Condon and Chase Burns swapped places to #5 and #7 respectively. Brody Brecht jumped into the top 10 with Prospect Journal the most bullish on him. They have him taken #2!

Konnor Griffin and PJ Morlando remain the only two prep prospects on the board. PJ has a position and age problem, so he could slip completely out of the top 15 in the next version. Prep names will need to do a lot of work this high school season because beyond these two and Cam Caminiti, there’s currently not much excitement outside of the college ranks.

Speaking of college, if you want to see the future of pro baseball, spend some time at Wake Forest. It has four of the fifteen on the list headlined by Krutz and Burns.

If you’d like to catch up on last year’s draft prospects, take a look at this book from Baseball America. Now look at the March 2024 MLB draft update to read the latest.
